My husband and I originally started our blog to keep in touch with our family as we work to update our house and began our first year of marriage. After a couple of months I realized that I really enjoyed blogging and sharing recipes, crafts, and home improvement projects that we were doing. So I began working to share my posts through link parties and connecting with other bloggers. I have loved seeing all of the great blogs out there and gathering inspiration from them. I really enjoy blogging and creating things to put on my blog.
What inspired the name of your blog?
The name of my blog is Love, Pasta and a Tool Belt. We originally were Keeping up with the Glovers but as the blog began to evolve and focus more on new recipes, crafts etc. I decided that I wanted a more creative name.
Love is the first word because it is a blog about us as a couple, newlyweds (are you still newlyweds after a year?) and in love. Pasta represents me because I love all things pasta. The five cheese ziti from Olive Garden is my favorite food of all time, even over dessert. So putting pasta in the blog name seemed right. Tool Belt represents my husband. He works in the construction industry and he does all of the heavy lifting and tool required projects around here while I read him the directions.
Where do you find inspiration for new posts?
Pinterest! I love that site. Cookbooks. I know they are a thing of the past now with the internet but I really love flipping through a cook book and finding recipes to try or modify. Other blogs, there are so many great blogs out there and I love seeing what others have done and trying it out or making it my own, always giving them credit of course! Walking through the craft store sometimes gives me inspiration for something new to make! And my husband, he is very creative and is always giving me great ideas to change up a project to make it better.
What hobbies do you have outside of blogging?
I love to scrapbook, I have not in awhile but I plan to start up again this summer. Shopping, reading, taking pictures, cooking, and spending time with my husband and our 4 year old dog, Dolly, a greyhound/pointer/boxer mix.
Provide us with links to a couple of your most popular original recipes/projects?
My first success for a breakfast crock pot meal has been a big hit, Crock Pot French Toast. I made a simple DIY Menu Board that was inexpensive and so easy.
I also share wedding planning tips every Thursday on my Wedding Thursday feature. Here is one of my favorite posts on Cute Reception Ideas.
A meet and greet requires a little chit-chat... so how about leaving a comment on her Facebook page, blog or send off a quick hello in a tweet! Thanks so much for stopping by. Hugs all around!
